History of Agra Taj Mahal
It is the history of Taj Mahal that adds a soul to its beauty: a soul full of love, loss, remorse and love again. Because if it were not for love, the world would have been robbed of a good example on which people base their relationships. An example of how much a man loved his wife, and even after her stay but it was a memory, he made sure that this memory would never end.
The man was Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, the former head of state who fell in love with Mumtaz Mahal, his beloved wife. She was a Persian Muslim princess (named Arjumand Banu Begum before marriage) and was the son of Mughal Emperor Jehangir and grandson of Akbar the Great.Five years later in 1612, they married.Mumtaz Mahal, a close friend of Shah Jahan, died in 1631, while giving birth to their 14th child.
It was in memory of his beloved wife that Shah Jahan erected a magnificent monument as a tribute to him, which we know today as the "Taj Mahal". An example of love, we have used the services of 22,000 workers and 1,000 elephants. The monument is made entirely of white marble, brought from all over India and central Asia. After spending about $ 32 million, the Taj Mahal was abolished in 1653.
